Where are they now??

I am pretty sure the Lusty's bought the Celica off Bruce McGowan. I definitely have some footage of it racing under Lusty ownership at Sandown in the early 80's.

WWW.oldracephotos.com (awesome web site for motor racing photos). Go to the Advance search feature and type in "Sports Sedan" and there are pages of memories.

Where are they now??

Postby Htc Motorsport » Thu Dec 11, 2008 2:28 pm

Hey thats the car...i had a stack of those motorsport year books and i threw them all out last year when i moved house...kicking myself now.... i remember seeing it in there at AIR round. I think this could possibly be the car that Bob Gill had. Does anyone know Bob Gill. Was the Celica built in Tassie. If it had the injection on it off the old McCormack Charger then that could be why Bob would have bought it i would think....to get the parts to go with the bits he has in the Jag...Just a hunch..?????????

Simon Harrex crashed this car heavily at Lakeside about 10 years ago.
The remains are probably sitting in his workshop in Brisbane.
For a light tube car it held up very well. He put it in the fence under the famous Lakeside bridge.
