Anyone know why Hossack was excluded in Q1? Tamasi and Young did 2 laps in Q2 and Mcready 1...I hope they didnt have problems. Price down to 11's

Well I just got home and I dont think the champion is certain yet...Ricca had disappeared straight after R3, apparently to the stewards office. Ricca and Hossack were driving very hard and the inevitable happened, they clashed into the final few corners resulting in Hossack sideways and Ricca off the road on the exit. They cars both have scars to prove the clash and whatever happened seemed to damage Ricca's car as he dropped down the order fairly quickly. A shame it happened but it looked inevitable with two great drivers driving at 110%. Both drivers drove very well, Shane Price...whoah what a drive and Nelson has some serious grunt! Price was outrunning everything up the back straight - even the Audi! Shane looked at home in the paddock to which was good. Tamasi had smoke bellow out, engine didnt sound sick though, in R1 and he didnt participate again unfortunately. Going into the last race apparently Ricca & Hossack were on 224 points so whoever was ahead was going to get the Championship...We shall see if anything changes...as far as Audi Spares were concerned they won and Ricciardello's looked unhappy. I hope the racing is this intense next year there were some great battles!!!

I guess we will have to wait for an official post on here as confirmation on the 2008 Kerrick Sports Sedan Champion.

According to the below link they are televising the races this Sunday on Speedweek.

Time to set the record straight on a couple of issues. The FINAL results, race report and pointscore are now on this site. Tony and Darren did come together as they came onto the main straight in race three but this was regarded as simply a "racing incident" by officials at a later review. Tony did make a bee line for the stewards office following race three but not about the coming together, but because he thought that Darren had passed under yellow flag conditions. Bruce Banks (Mazda) had come onto the main straight blowing heaps of oil smoke and travelling slowly. As a result, flaggies hung out a yellow. Darren passed Tony PRIOR TO the yellow flag point and was therefore not guilty of any offence. No further action was taken by officials. rotorboi, I'm sure that the racing will be just as intense next year, roll on 2009.

Once again Petrolhead brilliant write up, almost as good as being there!!

Sounded like a very exciting final meeting to what has been an interesting race series all the way to the end. Not many national championships this year would of gone into the final race with the top two drivers on equal points, talk about a cliffhanger of a finish!!!
The Kerrick series has surely built up over the past 3 years, their financial support and the efforts of the behind the scenes organisers really needs to be commended.

Well done to all the series entrants, in particular Darren Hossack/ John Gourlay for winning the tittle & Tony Ricciardello who fought all the way to the end and proved that his Alfa is still an absolute weapon of a car!

just seen the telecast of the sandown meeting..

Hossacks a bit of a dog with his turning right on a left hand corner into a red Alfa

matches his comments after the race that it all was ment to happen.

nice way to win a championship.

what were the officials looking at??
