Ford Anglia's

After Torana's and Escorts, Ford Anglia's would have to be one of the more popular Sports Sedans.

Stones Brothers ran one before moving onto the RX7. I think one has a Cortina and the other the Anglia.

This one has appeared on ebay a few years back. I think the owner was a member here at one stage

The De Luca Anglia was probably the Quickest in he 70s / 80s. I think he had a number of top 5 finishes at a National level at AIR. The car I believe has a Group U log book now.

I just love these little jiggers ... they look so bloody tough when kitted out with a decent set of big integrated flares/spoiler and a massive wing. Luke Marinelli's fabulous 105e is a prime example.

A few others that come to mind ... John Oakley's 1860 dry sumped crossflow in white (it was real quick at Huntley, so I'm told), Bob Walton's well engineered Rover V8 powered car in Ford Blue from memory ... and Les Johnson's immaculate pushrod example, also in blue. Les and his mate Phil did an absolutely fabulous job on restoring the car after purchasing it from Wayne Lanham in the late '80s, again from memory. There was also a Falcon 6 powered example in yellow that appeared at NSWRRC events at Oran Park, but I can't recall who owned it.

The frustration is all this happened pre internet, and no matter how hard I search, images are simply non-existent online. I'm sure images exist, but nil have been posted on the related sites.

As mentioned in my 'Searching for my old Mk1 Cortina' post, as an alternative to finding my old Tina (probably highly unlikely), I'd happily take on a 105e sports sedan resto project ... so if there is one out there gathering dust, please let me know.

In regard to my Cortina, I actually owned two at one point ... the maroon and silver car I'm chasing and a bright yellow, blue wheeled Mk1, powered by a 12A bridgeport, sold to a guy named Peter in Sydney.

It too is probably out their somewhere ... so if anyone can shine light on either vehicle, it would be greatly appreciated.
