If they want to score National points they will have to as there is no provision in the sporting regs to run other than the approved tyres.
If a National entrant ran another tyre they would be disqualified. For state entrants we will merely remove any non Dunlop shod car from scoring ponts in the National series.

Are you controlling tyre construction (ply or radial)? rim size? compound? tyre width? choices of tyre width? or just that they have to be dunlops?

We will talk with our registered teams and sort out the wet tyre situation.
At this stage the tyres have to be Dunlop full stop and be listed on the approved tyre list in the series sporting regs.
We will list the tyres that our teams use. If someone signs a racing committment and has a tyre size other than one on the list we will add the appropriate Dunlop size in the standard compound which is presently SS12 if my recollection is correct.
In the end I would envisage the approved wet tyre to also be Dunlops with an approved compound and tread pattern that works well.

wets will be free till we can offer a suitable wet across the range used in our competition.

Yes Damian, worn out ones are OK as long as they have the correct logo on the side!!

fantastic news phil, well done! does this mean dunlop will do a decent deal as well then price wise? has there been some kind of price cap or whatever from dunlop so they dont start ripping us any harder than they do now?

So what is the involvement of performance friction? a secondary sponsor or something?

PFC are a support sponsor and they will be offering tech service to our temas as well as contributing to the team rebate pool for registered entrants.

The Dunlop deal is with the Kerrick series only so will not affect or benefit those not in the series. Dunlop have no plan to increase prices any more than normal increases and their history on that is below the CPI inflation rate. As a matter of fact they tell me that they have not made a price increase since 2007.

The parent company is Goodyear Dunlop in Australia and they are behind this sponsorship of the Kerrick series.

As it has turned out, for a registered team to race in the televised Kerrick series will be similar or lower net entry fee cost (post end of year team distribution) then what it costs to race in any state series. I expect we will only grow from here and we will continue to build the sponsorship pool to make it even better in the future. It has been a mountain of work for Rob and I but it has been satisfying work and thank you to all that have sent encouragement and thanks.

So, just to confirm, competitors will be able to run on any size Dunlop tyre currently available to Sports Sedan competitors? Do they have to be bought from an approved source?

Congrats and thanks to Phil and all involved in tieing up these sponsorship and support deals. It will definitely will stand the series in good stead going forward. I wonder if the Baily Aston has conducted its development on Dunlops thus far? The photos I've seen don't really show its tyres in detail....
