Unfortunately thats the other 323 that used to run around Lakeside.... I think it may have been campainged by "Norm Blunt" ?? But I'm kinda stretching my memory there.... I think it had a 12a in it too...

The "other" 323 was campaigned by Daryl Fisher between 1985 - 1987 - the version that is in the for sale advert is when Daryl Searle owned it.

The guy that built the car rang me today (Chris) from WA...

Was great to chat to him and understand the history of the car whenhe built it and then when he sold it to Rod... Even better still....... HE HAS PICS !!!!!!

Congrats Philby. Can tell your happiness in your post alone. Was it Chris as in Chris Iskov the builder? One of the pictures in particular is quite interesting with the Ford Escort. Pretty sure it says Zakspeed on the windscreen sticker so assuming that is a rare shot of Ian Grey /Mike Meetam in the genuine Zakspeed Escort.

Chris Iskov certainly was the builder ( and the guy I spoke to ) ... He was equally excited the car was still around and in good condition..

It does definetly say Zakspeed on the screen, not sure who the driver is , but I'll buzz Chris to find out....

Looks like Chris has heaps of pics and data on the car which will be good.... And I can work out what those flared guards are from...... Finally :D

I have been lucky enough to get in contact with Rod's son (Brad), who has given me about 30 assorted photo's of the car from when they brought it over from WA.. (When they purchased it from Chris)... to shots of the Chassis, Interior and racing at Lakeside and Surfers Paradise in the 80's (with some other old (and great) Sports Sedans...

I now have a better view of what the car used to look like to help restore it...
