i had more than a belly fire stoked up! Fuel mixture was running rich and fire was coming out all pipes!! A 'normally' reliable source in the know told me the situation and i took it for granted. Will ring the kerrick or the nsw president next time before i declare to kill some people ay :)

1 thing i dont understand though. I know a bunch of you dont like the utes blah blah but as far as im led to believe they comply to our rules just as much as all our cars currently do EXCLUDING the engine size am i right? People carry on about them having a "UTE" body shape but if you happen to pull out a dictionary or the like you will find a ute is a body option for a sedan in most cases. Now a COUPE is also a body option for a sedan and we run a TON of coupes in our field and these arent frowned upon??????
Is there something else wrong with them i havent been told about? As one of the guys has bought a 6L engine fore his car/ute and i dont see any reason he couldnt run with that engine in the next kerrick round if he wanted??
Also this s*** from cams has come from somewhere surely? someone must have notified them? I want to know why kerrick couldnt have invited the utes for this round. They arent being invited as part of the 'kerrick' series thay are being invited as part of the NSW series which they have been very welcome all year. I was led to believe this was a JOINT round. So why they werent invited in the first place is beyond me? Can anyone explain why? And dont give me any crap about we dont want them as part of the kerrick series, as we arent asking for them to get kerrick points or anything we are asking for them to be part of our STATE series that we were able to invite them to all year.
If cars havent been invited in the past why was the templer camaro allowed to run at the kerrick series at mallala?
non kerrick series but still the nationals in 03 kayne scott trans am ran at phillip island and that was illegal in the rules at the time wasnt it?
same as the bill pye porsche and fawcett trans am (non kerrick but nationals series again)
The utes would have given me 3 cars to run against that i was looking forward to that now wont be there...... Same for you torana racer.

How is everyone going with there preparations? does anyone know if timing will be running on the thursday?
gaz you are hilarious! liam must have a picture of you ready up on his wall. if he could ever get his hands out of his pockets you might cop a dart!

Haha phil that would have been pretty funny if you hadnt had the accident the night before, bad timing!

Maybe a ute is not a series production closed car as defined in the tech regs or a defined car with over 5,000 sales worldwide?

Yes it is a joint meeting however the races at this national event are run under a set of sporting regulations that allow complying group 3D sports sedans and also cars complying with Trans-am rules. Normally that would not be a problem as state championships run under similar rules.

For the record a trans-am car may also comply with group 3D as complying trans-am bodywork may be used when recommended by the NSSC for approval by CAMS.

This is our first year at this joint state/national points syatem so we are learning as we go and nobody envisaged cars outside group 3D rules would be competing when we put this together. Many people from several states have asked me for many years why dont we put our dates together and achive what we have done with joint state/Nat. This year we have achieved this in 3 states due to an effort by Qld, NSW & Vic plus the NASSA. I see a lot more good in this joint meeting procedure than I see bad so I hope we continue to do it for many years and I am sure we will work through the odd issue that may be challenging and sort that out in time for 2012.

I am not aware of what arrangements were made before I was managing the series with the NZ cars. When the Tranzam series started they [transam cars] were listed as accepted cars in the sportig regs. As for the Templer Camaro, to the best of my knowledge (not that I am a scrutineer) it is a sports sedan and was constructed as a sports sedan quite a few years ago by Bob Middletons crew I believe and it must have a sports sedan log book.

The main handicap with the dacking was I was too sore to bend over and pull them up again...so I just stood there I think for awhile hahaha.

Just a little correction here for you Phil and everyone.
Liam has not worked a day in his life and in fact i'm pretty sure his hands are permanently glued into his pockets. He does manage however to sometimes get some photos taken and put onto this and other forums (some kind of feat considering the hand situation).
Yes, there is a lot of good stuff going on down at Riverside, but don't be fooled into thinking Liam has anything to do with it other than maybe reheating some sausage rolls in the microwave for lunch.

LOL ;) My brother went there the other week as the owner is an old customer etc. Anyway my brother was describing some cars and told me the name of the Business and i asked him about Liam and it was like Liam???? He did see the Hyundai though :)

Must have been Feb, he mentioned the Monaro and thats gone has'nt it? I'd forgotten about the mention of the Monaro and was thinking he was there a little bit more recently. He was with another guy picking up F5000 bits...

Although he did'nt actually mention Hyundai, he said some little tough looking thing which i assuned was the Hyundai :)

maybe Gaz was just telling Mark about the Monaro... He was mentioning sooo much stuff in the space of 5 minutes it was getting out of control... I have been meaning to get down there, just been slack....

Going by the lap times the locals were doing last State Round, it may be a bit tighter up the front :)
