If i recall correctly, Mark Nelson (?) posted cams documentation on this forum that was along the linesof - v8 supercars can run as a sports sedan with a larry bar if its still TEGA spec.

Still, 23 cars is a decent grid, consecutive 20+ car grids, somethings going right, and you guys have mentioned all these 'regulars' who aren't competing. How good is the series gonna grow in the near future..

Ps. Anyone have a copy of the winton round, i missed it on tv.

Hi Everyone.

I would just like to clear up a misconception again for anyone who has not read my previous statement in another post on this forum, in response to roverboys comment -

"I personally am sick of our catagory being CAMS dumping ground for all the cars that come along without a place to race. "We've bought a car now change your rules so we can race" is not the way it works!! "

This was never the case with Oz Truck, our intention was alway to run our series under the A.A.S.A with either the Q.R.D.C or the I-Race Series within an existing category, we had approval from Qld Raceways to run the trucks as far back as August 09' and it was never a case of us buying trucks expecting anyone to change their rules so we can race. Once we have a field of 10 plus committed racers we will re-address this topic and decide if I-Race is where we stay or if we pursue another home, but for a new category A.A.S.A and I-Race was exactly what we needed to proceed with importing the first trucks and we are 100% happy with what they have provided us with. Our Sydney based customers have been running with the N.S.W S.S guys as a bonus and this has been great giving them more racing miles close to home, Chris Jackson has been extremely helpful in this regard and Oz Truck and our Sydney customers are very appreciative to Chris and his group of racers for showing this initiative.

Cheers guys.

The 4 sports sedan race car manufacturers are:

1) Steve Vigurs - Steves Toyshop Sydney - has built about 30 race cars I am led to believe and is the builder of Scott Butler raced Camaro and Chris Jackson Calibra.
2) Riverside Racing - Melbourne. Liam has been posting images of his work on this website.
3) Datafin Pty Ltd - Brisbane. Principle is Phil Crompton (me), chief fabricator engineer is Shane Stansfield and Daniel Crompton as design drafter. Set up to manufacture Trans am inspired sports sedan chassis to suit trans-am bodywork. Stansfield has experience in trans-am (NZ with tranzaction and Petch) , Nascar USA (Junior Johnson team) sports sedan (John Briggs title winning year 1996) and supercar with John Briggs supercheap team. Also ability to build engines, service gearbox's, diffs and general maintainence plus set up. Able to check suspension geometry and do computer similations of suspension set up if information provided on provided worksheets. First chassis will be on track late 2011 and will be available for sale or as sample for any new chassis ordered.
4) Not official but more than one rumour suggesting John Gourlay (AUDI Spares) is setting up to build sports sedans no doubt similar to the Audi. I will try to get the latest from the horses mouth at EC. Ron Hossack built the Audi, Randles Saab and presently on the Roddy Jag. More than competant to build any sports sedan but looking to build on a common chassis I suspect.

Just a little correction here for you Phil and everyone.
Liam has not worked a day in his life and in fact i'm pretty sure his hands are permanently glued into his pockets. He does manage however to sometimes get some photos taken and put onto this and other forums (some kind of feat considering the hand situation).
Yes, there is a lot of good stuff going on down at Riverside, but don't be fooled into thinking Liam has anything to do with it other than maybe reheating some sausage rolls in the microwave for lunch.
