Is there any CAD simulation being used to design these chassis or are they built using knowledge gained
over time?

By the way that's not a stab, just a legit question.

The Bimmer appears to be progressing quite quickly Profi. What is the current estimated completion date?

Out of Forgeline they cost USD$1210 each, That's with titanum bolts ect.

We're happy to let them go for USD$1100 + delevery from the states.

The original monaro was designed on a cad package called Inventer, since then we've just modiefied from the original drawings for easeability to work on and chassis rigidity/weight loss. Fundamentally they are similar, monaro/rx8 and also the bmw share many brackets in common to help reduce cost. But as you would know with every car you get new ideas, so unfortunatly can't build them the same each time.

We plan on being testing before this year to run the Kerrick series in 2012.

(any one from victoria, we have just purchased a 48' 3 car transporter, we will be travelling to the national rounds in 2012, it will be a sharing cost deal)

We also have 2 other sports sedans getting a bit of work done (el falcon/ford nascar and mr2/13b), both engine conversions, and we hope to also see these cars out very soon.

Future of sports sedans in vic could be looking healthy in the near future. It’s great to see people having new cars built and existing cars improved.

Liam

Small update - Front end of the Rx8 is almost at the rolling stage, few
more braces to go in still, but it's mainly all there.

Interesting to hear John Gourley talking on Inside Speed about him working with a few others at building an off the shelf type Sports Sedan to lure younger drivers into the category by having the engineering side already done. Richard Crail also mentioned that Dean Randle is looking at building a new car.

Haven't done an update for a while, both cars have really progressed a long way in the last few weeks.

I'll start with the Rx8, chassis fabricatiation is nearing completion, little more bar work in the ass end and some inner cabin bar work is all that's left to do.

The BMW has really starting to take shape, just playing with some different shapes for the flares, we will knock them up in steel sometime soon once we're happy with the shape.
