The only team that uses the new Dodge is Penske, the parts for the R5P7 are still very available and will remain so for a long time. Having access to engine builders such as Ernie Elliot and Mike Ege who developed the R5P7 from it's inception are happy to provide all pertinent information to tailor the engine for a variety of applications. By fitting a longer skirt piston with a thicker ring stack one of these engines has done over 15,000 ks in a road car and can still do a 11 second quarter mile in a 1400kg car on street tyres. They have a cross bolted 6 bolt block with enclosed cam tunnel. The engine was a clean sheet engine and shares no common archetecture with the 340/360 la block. Wayne Jesel has a 370 cube turboed R5P7 in his Magnum truck which runs over 270mph on the Salt. This engine built by Donnie Lewis makes in excess of 1500 bhp. Go mopar, cheap, fast & reliable.!!!!
