I have to say i back the U3500 argument. If the u3500 class can get a good following it can only be for the top guys. I'm currently in the process of building a new car and have tossed up the idea of running in the outright category or the u3500 class.
The u3500 class appeals to me because it would be alot cheaper to run in and if i ever get the bug which I'm sure i will i can step up to the outright category without much issue.
Spec brakes for u3500 would also be a great idea. Keeping costs down and leveling the playing field (in one area).
My only concern for the u3500 class is that i personally don't know of many cars being built for the class. If there was more info on cars in the build for the class it would certainly spur a few people along to build these types of sports sedans because after all id rather strap a turbo to my 3.5Lna and get my butt whipped (enjoy the extra speed) in outright than run around with 2 cars in u3500. I understand its still a race within a race so you still are racing outright sports sedans but who honestly would want to win a u3500 championship when there was only you and another guy in the class.
I praise the guys currently running in the u3500 category as someone has to test the water first and i realise that you cant all of a sudden make a category and have 20 cars in it. Hopefully there a few guys out there about to hit the tracks in u3500 cars. I know it would make me reconsider which way to go and possibly entice others to join...
