Escort Mk1 Sports Sedan Please Help Identify To Find Log Book

Hi there,

I have just bought a Mk1 Escort under 2ltr Sports sedan which has been log booked but the previous owner has lost it and the old cams sticker is no longer readable. I picked it up from a guy called Mal Pettard from Bathurst NSW and he had owned it since 1990 ish. His Wife bought it for him (good of her) from around North Sydney area but can't remember the name of the previous owner.

It has a fibre glass front end that can be completely removed and has been spaced framed from the front struts onwards and a fibre glass boot with spoiler. Torana or Group C rx7 style flares.

14" x 10 slicks and also came with a set of steel 13" rims that look to be 8 or 9" wide.

2ltr ford pinto motor with twin 48mm dellorto side drafts and said to have had a m21 4spd gearbox????

I am unsure if this is the same paint scheme that it would have started its racing life as.

If anyone has any info on who built this car or who might have owned it before Mal then it would be great to hear from you.

Hi Dave,

Did you find out anymore about your Mark1? It has a similar scheme to this Escort but unlikely it is the same car.

Nothing more, thanks for the pic though.. Mine is a SOHC 2ltr Pinto & motor is up front.. still on the hunt for info and log book. Here's some photo's of rebuild. Just in shop now for final tune.

Hey guys,

The search for info is still on.. I have located a log book starting from 2001 which is good for the alloy cage in it but this was built a long time before that.. 1980's for sure!!

Any help would be great
