round one mallala

I personally think that it will be between Tony's Alfa and Hossack's Audi going on his speed from the recent state level meet at Sandown. Will be interesting to see how Youlden goes and if David Wall ends up running too, both have good equipment under them and they both obviously do a lot of racing.
Not too long to go now, can't wait for season 2008 to begin!!

round one mallala

Phast Phils predictions:

Randle is out for the year.
Voights car sold to Macready from NSW.
Baily will be in the Nissan till round 3, still in top 3.
Crompton in old Mustang till round 3. New brakes and some more shock/spring/anti roll bar work plus some more HP, should be in top 6. Mallala not his fave track as the Mustang is heavy and hard on tyres.
Youlden will be very fast but over 3 races tyre condition will be hard to predict. In top 3 is my prediction.
Gillon will be in top 6. Will struggle with tyre life also as will all transam cars at Mallala.
Not sure if Walls are going to Mallala.
Tamasi will find Mallala more challenging than Sandown. In the top 5 I suspect.
Hossack is favoured to win. Needs a trouble free run to do it.
Ricca still shortest odds. Is always extremely fast at Mallala and the tyres stay with him all weekend. Last year he ran an old replacement tyre due to tyre fault and still won.
If Ervin goes he could be a dark horse on the twisty Mallala confines.
Jameson has been working hard and should be in the top bunch of close behind.

Who have I forgotten?

round one mallala

So ok 2 of my top three have gone by the way side, better update it then. Have to agree Tony is the odds on Favourite, and is quick, but Hossack to win, Tony will be 3rd, and I think Tamasi then will come 2nd ( I forgot how well he ran at a couple of tracks last year). Thanks for the update Phil. Is there going to be an entry list on the site soon, as to who is racing and they are running before each round.??? Is there anymore news/updates/features on the cars that are being built, or running in the championship planned??

Thought I might add a bit to this dicussion. The full year entry list is on the website. The list of enries for Mallala as follows at this stage, Tony, Kerry, Charlie, Phast Phil, Fred, Jammo, Trent, Chris Templer, Danny Tamasi, Hossack, Nelson, Barnsie, Simon Longhurst, Bruce banks and Bernie Gillon. Plans are in place for monthly updates on a couple of projects, the Aston Martin & the new Mustang. A monthly report with photo's is planned. My pick for the Mallala quinella, Hossack, Ricco & Tamasi who will have to keep Fireball Baily behind. Phast Phil will fight it out with Jammo', Youlden, Young & Templer. :)

Ok maybe a Tipping Competition should be started. Split the Drivers into 2-3 groups and u can only pick 1 driver from each (or 2 from group 2) to make a top . Does anyone think this has merit?? Wouldn't know about any prizes, I would just do this for fun!! :D
