List of Cars in sheds...

Postby loser » Wed Mar 17, 2010 5:14 pm

This is just for you JD.... List here any cars you know of that are sitting in peoples sheds for one reason or another. Some obviously not being driven for financial reasons, others for sentimental reasons? Or good cars in sheds doing nothing. Perhaps we can match a few cars up with some perspective racers and get a few more out on the track where they belong. If you own one of these and it's for sale or hire let us know. Or perhaps you need help getting it running? Let us know and maybe someone here can help..Here's a start......

Neil Bryson Calibra. (Not sitting yet but will be soon unless someone buys it)
Grant Munday Commodore. (In pieces but mostly there. Will it be going soon?)
Bob Gill AU. (For sale after Bob built BA)
Bob Gill BA. (Ready to go?)
Bob Gill Mustang. (Ready to go?)
Keith Carling series 3 RX7. (For sale)
Grant Munday Camaro Transam (For sale)
Steve Vigurs Camaro (car before the one Butler runs now. For sale)
Glen White Capri (Qld car for sale?)
Joe Pirotta Cortina (Rebuilding? No driver?)
Ex Bob Jolly VK. (Roller sitting in Darwin..For sale?)

There's 11 to start with. I'm sure there's a hundred more...

So you wheelbase is 2440mm then?

If you don't mind me asking where have you stretched the wheelbase, i assume it's by pulling the rear wheels back.

That is a real shame after an encouraging start to the season.

"The wheel base and the location of the centrelines of the front and rear hubs shall be within ±100mm of that of the Defined Car."

The old rule was only 25mm! Does that mean you are 160mm longer than standard or does your car have to comply with the old rule?? How was it ever legal? It doesn't fair well for the new u3500NA class does it? Just lost 50% of the field... Seems the rules are only "bent or flexed" to allow more 6L cars (Monza's in the past and TransAm's in the present) in the field.

Well that statement is complete and utter rubbish and baseless in any fact.

As much as Paul is a good mate of mine, he presented a vehicle at a CAMS Race Meeting that did not meet the requirements for wheelbase length. Like in all aspects of life, if you choose to flaunt with rules or regulations, you run the risk of penalty when you are caught doing so.

Paul was not penalised, allowed to compete in all three races on the Sunday at Wakefield, but asked to rectify the ineligibility issue with his vehicle for the next meeting.
Naturally Paul is pissed off, but I'm a little non-plussed as to how this is the fault of CAMS?
