Trust me the rules will be enforced in the National series this year.
I have already confirmed with CAMS to appoint a series tech officer for 2010 with instructions to ENFORCE the good rules that we have that every competitor has to abide by.
As for a toyota v8 nascar engine........not legal yet and good luck if you think you would ever get a hold of one. In any case they would cost a packet.

Re toyota nascar engines, you can get them, you will not be able to get parts, a flogged engine is top dollar (triple the price of any other brand) and most importantly they wont make any more Hp then a Ford/chev/dodge.

For my benefit ( and i believe Sports sedans in general)
I asked for the rules to be changed to allow All NASCAR and Australian V8SC blocks to be made eligible.This would have been very simple to regulate.
I would like to run a Chev R07 motor, the bore spacing's are larger than the road going blocks, so standard heads, cranks cams etc .. are all to short and will not work. This now means that the NASCAR used parts and motors of the longer variety are no use to hot roders etc.. as it has to be All or nothing, not as many people wanting to buy purely racing parts.
I can buy a good R07 cheaper than
an equivalently well built Australian 6 litre 18deg motor.
Unfortunately i have be told my suggestion was rejected or modified .The longer Ford and Chev blocks and the Holden motorsport block have not been recommended by Nassa for approval.
Looks like i will have to wait! :( :(

Not true, they (Chev & Dodge nascar) have been recommended and CAMS have yet to approve.
Ford FR9 not yet available and Toyota not affordable I think.

Will some current engines be allowed?

These engines are in the same boat as the FR9 and the toyota powerplant.

These are yet to be accessible to the common punter.

Those engines (the superceded ones - I forget the exact model numbers) are available and 3 competitors already have them.
We listed the engines that were affordable as legal.
Still await CAMS approval

All i am really asking for at this stage is that next time NASSA meet to discuss rule changes
that i be permitted to make a presentation re R07 costs, preferably in person, and while we think
about costs lets look at say a current ford D spec 5 L V8SC motor costs ( legal ) vs. R07.
-Hands down an R07 is cheaper.

I've seen the body panels for this thing and the plans to have them moulded for the vents to be sealed off. Will be an awesome looking car when it's done.

I'm surprised nobody hasn't attacked one of these cars previously.
