Hey Guys,

Anyone interested in sharing some up close pictures of your front bars B)

I have been doing a but of research on European cars, just interested in the way you have gone about them.

Cheers

I'd send you a pic Profi, but my front spoiler/splitter is probably in about 1000 pieces, scattered across the infield somewhere near Turn 3 at Phillip Island..... I'll try and get you a photo of my spare spoiler/splitter.

The rules re: Spoilers/Splitters are pretty well defined in the CAMS Manual, you've got certain dimensions to work with, so go your hardest within those dimensions and you'll be fine.

Unfortunately, most Sports Sedans are a "work in progress" because none of us have access to wind tunnels etc. I guess the fun part is in the experimentation - provided you don't end up with a car that cuts through the air like a 1999 Mercedes CLR Le-Mans version.... (proof that even the best of them can cock it up!!!!!!).

Those Mclarens were a disaster!!

Have many sports sedans been wind tunnel tested?

We did a while back with the XJS in the full scale tunnel at Monash... wasnt really serious, just more of a fun 'stuff around' session!! Someone actually posted a pic of it in the new cars thread.

All the Trans am bodies were originally wind tunnel tested by SCCA and then homologated when they gave an equal reading to the transam specification. The moulds were then sent to a single source supplier and you have to order from them.
As a result they were not maximised, just equal. Pretty dam good though all the same for cars with a big frontal area.
