A lexus v8 twin turbo for a start, actually make that at least 2 big and reliable horsepower motors!!! or part of my house!!! LOL :D As I have said before if I want to run a chev at the front, either I have to win the lotto, or someone gives me a drive (and I think I will win the lotto first!!!!) It woulud be nice if the parts and the blocks for these engine come down to such a price that you could honestly build one cheaply, that will give you great reliability and well as big horsepower. But because the 350 small block (which is no longer in production by GM US) popular by most motorsports, the parts are getting dearer to develop to make more horses and still be reliable. I know when Kerry debut the Supra back in 87 that he only did 15 laps in it and the engine dropped a valve. That engine cost him about $25 - $30 K back then, and if he builds a Aston V12, how much will that cost him????? I can see where you are coming from Ice and I can also see where everyone else is coming from as well. Unfortunately for me it comes down to dollars, and don't get me wrong I know some people that have spent the same amount of money on turbo sixes the same time as what Kerry did with the chev. Every motor has its pros and cons, for a rotary you have to rev it to get it anywhere, and to make horsepower, a 6, V6, V8, V12 has the torque and a smoother band over a wider curve where as a turbo you have curve which is nothing to something, or you make so yu have it come in smoother but you wont have the horses???
Its a trade off with everything and that is why the sports sedans are exciting to watch as they are only 1100 kg with most of them having at least 700 horses, and everyone has different ways to putting them to the ground, and that could turn into another debate, to which is better. But because of the different configurations that are available to use which makes this so great. Otherwise we would have to call it V8 Supercars or Nascar, or something else which have rules that are so tight that every car must run the same components, at least with Nascar you are guaranteed that there will be passing for the lead almost every lap (which would be nice to see a bit more in the V8's :D). The Tranzams are a great edition to the field and if Senese has brought the Corvette from NZ, I hope he does well. For me, it would nice if I could go out there and win a race (or 2 or 3 or more do I sound like Tony LOL), but it would be better if I could just get out there!!!!!
THE AGE OLD SAYING IS, TO FINISH FIRST, FIRST YOU MUST FINISH. AND BRING ON THE SERIES
