Historic Sports Sedans

I know there is a class for them and have heard of people speak about them but apparently there is only one registered car?

I know Paul Morris brought an EH with a Holden 6 a couple of months back and wants to get that going...
Ive got an old FX which is becoming a painfully slow process...

Are there enough cars out there to generate a race meeting?

Why dont you start as support races, (say 5 laps) at state and national sports sedan meetings to get some exposure, might dust the cobwebs from older cars sitting in sheds.

Spectators could also see difference between older and current cars

Well the Group A & C touring cars are becoming more and more popular and most of them cars wpuld have to cost double the price of historic s/s....And they can produce fields of 40 cars like i saw at the muscle car masters so no reason why it couldnt take off.....

That is a great idea but there is a lot of work that goes into adding a category to a race meeting... And a promotor wont do it for only half a dozen cars...
Probably best to get guys with Historic cars to keep in contact with each other and generate enough interest internally to be able to get enough cars to "ask" for a race at a race meeting?

even better, make a 'class' for historic sports sedans within the national series and get those cars on the grid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a couple off "historic cars" was trying to find out more? I guessing it's to early and there are no rules really yet.

I would consider racing with SS but looking at the rules and even at my log book the min weight thing? My car weighed 1.7kg lighter than the minimum weight (car alone) when it raced as group C let alone SS. ????

Hi Bender, don't be too concerned about it being a little heavy. Get the cars out with us, you would be more than welcome. Even if you start out running state SS meetings and see how it goes. We have a couple of Group C cars run with us a bit, and they do alright. I know for sure that one is entered at Vic round 1 in 2 weeks.
The historic thing will come with time, I know there are a lot of cars being restored at the minute..
If your cars going, no use it sitting in the shed, get it out for a run like it was built for...

I have a old SS as well, I'm going over the car changing fluids and anything to do with fluids been sitting for a while. Just thinking out allowed, it's going to be well under weight I would think?

Oh well, under weight it's a pretty good problem to have. At least you can put weight where you want it..
