I was out there today. I did not see what happened to the Calibra so will have to wait for Mr Boost to give us a weekend run down but did not complete many laps. Gary Stevens RX7 hit the wall pretty darn hard coming onto the main straight. Happened almost in front of me. He walked away but it was a pretty big hit and you could tell he was a little shaken. The car just broke loose on him and he went in back wards. Never nice to see.

Quite a few of the cars were having problems. The 300ZX was really struggling and I don't think Nolan completed more than a lap. The Commodore of Whittaker and the GTR of Loftus seemed to be running very well.

Some great pics there JD, i agree with you, never nice to see damage to a car/competitor!! At least he is ok. Also great pics there, and looks as though a great day. By the way Boost, the Calibra looks great!!! Hope you guys get it sorted.

calibra is ready to go in the bin! dont know whats the go. we have run out of idea's. car had been ok but onc eit was put under race stress the pressure dropped off again so we pulled it up. car was running ok too, was just sittin behind 1st and second comfortably. car had spark plugs breaking down and it was down on power compared to the two chevs but was still easily holding onto them so thats a good sign i guess. just feeling very 'tired' of this problem.

i feel so sorry for stevens it took him 12 months to save and to rebuild the car and now its FARKED. he smashed his elbow rather badly and his helmet bent the f*%k out of the window net bars. (thank god for them). Track was very very slippery hence the slow times for everyone

It seems to be a never ending battle with that car Mr Boost. Your old man must have a hell of a lot of patience.

Joe Said's Fiat has to be heard to be believed. The thing sounds like a fighter jet when it is under acceleration. It is the loudest race car I have heard in a long time. You could tell where it was at any given point of time on the race track. Also that little white escort was immaculate prepared to show car stamdard. Very nice build. Do you know anything about that cars history Mr Boost?

a very little, it is a very nicely built car. i did meet the guy and have a short chat but cant tell you much. i do know that it has been a long build process though. next time i see him ill get the full story.

he does have a hell of alot of patience, ive never met anyone so dedicated. i guess thats what you get tho when your the one going out on a different branch from the rest of the world. everything about that engine (and every other engine he has run) is his own design and theres bugger all knowledge or develoment of this kind on those engines. things like the chev's or rotors or even the sr20 have had a hell of alot of r&d go into them by mega dollar companies. you can just buy 90% of the stuff of the shelf. but its what suits him and when things work the reward is great.

ive been for rides in chev sports sedans, his fiat v6, and of course my own car but nothing compares to that mazda engine we had. that thing was so violent. it would have been so so difficult to drive, but such a buzz.

hopefully the isuzu ends up the same! (not the difficult part)

by the way someone needs to come up with a nickname for joe. ive neva met a guy who can catch on fire as much as him. all his life his cars catch fire coz of those screaming rotors. it is definately the best sounding rotor out there tho.

Did Jackson and Butler come together on the Sunday? There is some pics on the JPM photography website of both cars with damage and they did go out on the same lap number so i am assuming they may have?.
