Hey Guys,

in the December issue there is a great article detailing Bryan Thompson's type 3 Chev powered VW that featured a heap of Formula 5000 running gear. What is really great about the article is the detailed info about the cars construction, development and racing success. There is also a huge amount of technical pictures too, was quite a remarkable little machine in its day!

Also there are interesting details about how big Sport Sedan racing was back in the 1970s with the huge prize money on offer and the massive crowds in attendance.

I might send a letter to the editor to congratulate him on an awesome story and gee him up to do more features on classic and contemporary Sport Sedans.

It was a good article that. AMC have covered a few Sports Sedans to date:

AMC9 - David Robertsons Ford Capri
- Geoghegan Monaro
AMC 10 - Thomson V8 Torana
AMC 11 - Goss Lighweight XA Falcon
AMC 13 - Jim Smith Rover
AMC 18 - Jim Richards Big M Falcon
- McCormack Charger
AMC 20 - Jane Torana
AMC 32 - Harrop EH
AMC 34 - Frank Ure Torana

Look forward to them doing some of the more recent cars: eg Thompson Mercedes

Might have to order some back issues going by the amount cars covered!!! Never realised that they'd been that active in covering the old cars, surely Thommos old Merc and Clerihans Alfa should be next on the list!
