Ford Cortina Sports Sedans

The forum has been a bit quiet of late so..

Will start with the TE & TF Cortina Sports Sedans (Mk4's).
Looking at old pics and clippings I dont think there was many of these ever racing, possibly only as many as 3-4.I am pretty sure they were all LHD.

To my understanding the first was Tony Jory's down in Tas.
Originally fitted with a Turbo and ended up with a 6 litre. He had it for sale in the late 80's. This car originally was white, then red.

Frank Sola raced a Mk4 for many years. This car went from a red / black scheme to a white scheme and eventually yellow. This was racing this in 2002 still. keith Linnell drove this on an odd occasion.

Scott Brydie raced a Mk4 for a number of years and I think still has his for sale? Recently appeared on ebay.

Barry Morcom also raced one for a while in the mid 90's. Did Steve Vigurs build it?

Axisa had the below for sale in 1995. Did Fred have a brother?

What about this one?

Or this?

Vince Matulovich 2002ish raced one in NSW around 2000. I vaguely recall seeing one race in an iRace meeting at Calder on Speedweek a few years back too against the Future Racers.
MSDyno had one. Which is your car TF Cortina?

Funny you should start this thread Troy... I was just thinking about matulovich's cortina today, I loved that car in the red, black and white, it just stood out and looked really good, always near the front at the new state rounds.. Scott brydie now races speedway at paramatta..

HELLO EVERYBODY I AM THE OWNER OF THE VINCE MATOULOVICH CORTINA (MICHAEL MECSERY).BARRY MORCOM WAS THE ORIGINAL OWNER STEVE VIGURS DID BUILD THE CAR. IT HAD A 202 IN IT AT FIRST THEN A 350 CHEV, VINCE SOLD IT BACK TO STEVE A FEW YEARS AGO, STEVE STRIPPED A LOT OF MECHANICALS OUT OF IT. I HAD TO GET THE FRONT UPRIGHT DIFF ETC FOR IT. I WILL BE PUTTING A 350 CHEV INTO IT AGAIN AND WILL BE PUTTING A 4 SPEED JERICO IN IT. I HAVE ATTACHED PHOTOS TAKEN OF THE CAR TODAY, I CAN FIBREGLASS, BUT WHEN IT COMES TO THE OTHER BITS TO DO I DO MY BEST ( ANY VOLUNTEERS TO HELP?) IT STILL HAS THE SAME PAINT JOB EXCEPT FOR THE NEW FRONT GUARDS I MADE. I WAS THINKING OF CHANGING COLOURS ANY IDEAS? THE CAR WAS ALWAYS RIGHT HAND DRIVE. IF ANY BODY WANTS TO TALK ABOUT IT PM ME. I TRIED TO UPLOAD PICTURES BUT COULDN'T. IF SOMEONE EMAILS MY I AM HAPPY TO SEND THEM THE PICTURES AND THERE MORE THAN WELCOME TO UPLOAD PICTURES ON MY BEHALF.

Hey TF,

There is a thread on how to post a picture up through Photobucket. Really simple and then you can add or remove them if you wish.

Do you think this is your car here?

Also, do any of our Tasmanian residents have any idea which "illegal car(s)" Tony Jory would have been referring to in his for sale clipping?

HELLO IT COULD BE MY CAR, THE ONLY REASON I SAY THAT IS BECAUSE THE LOWER HEIGHT OF THE REAR WING THE OTHER CORTINAS HAD HIGHER ONES,I HAVE THE ORIGINAL LOG BOOK WITH ME I SHOULD FIND IT BY NEXT WEEK SOME TIME, AND LET EVERYONE KNOW OR WE COULD JUST ASK STEVE V HE BUILT IT.I WILL BE AT BATHURST HOPEFULLY ON THE SATURDAY, I WOULD LIKE TO MATCH FACES TO FORUM NAMES, ALTHOUGH MOST IN NSW WOULD KNOW ME BY FACE BUT NOT BY NAME,BYE FOR NOW.

Hi Troy,

I think that it could have been the RX7 that Greg Crick was driving at the time, not sure tho.

Also there was another TF Cortina that raced down here in the state.
The Guys name was Tony (i think) Barnett.
It came from NSW and was painted pink. It arrived not long after Jory sold his, and he got sick of people asking him was it Jorys's so he put race tape on the window stating it wasnt.

It was running a 350 Chev in it.

Thanks
