From me, I could care less what engines are run. The more the merrier. Let's just get the cars out there.
As for the rules committee, the Vic state rep will be guided by the Vic state committee and vote for any decision as instructed by the Vic state committee who have considered all options from the general members, who have had their say and made it quite clear how they would like their votes cast on a range of issues. You were there, it was explained quite clearly.
As for every other state and the National reps, it is up to them how they vote.
I see now why you put this here, to try and encourage people in other states to get behind the proposal. Good idea, maybe explain it a little more next time, like, I think this would be a good thing to be bought up at the NSSC rule change meeting. What does everybody else think about it?
Maybe start a thread about the NSSC rule changes and everyone can put all their ideas in it.
Gotta go, there's a Torana Sports Sedan in the shed that needs a new smaller seat fitted so it's new pilot can go testing at Calder on Wednesday!

Lauren Gray is going to take the old girl for a spin. If she likes it (and why wouldn't she, it's a Torana after all?) Lauren will be driving at the last Shannons Nationals round in November at the Island.
I believe she will be the first Female to have a go in the Kerrick Sports Sedan series. We were waiting for Profi to take that honour but it's taking her too long to get her Hyundai going..

It’s not necessarily about how good the idea is
and its not about how one person out of 4 votes.
In fact one vote out of four is the losing vote so
My view is, in these circumstances, to start off
with it needs to be a good idea. Then it NEEDS to
be SOLD WELL to withstand vigorous scrutiny, Opposition
NEEDS to be, credited or refuted. so there
you have it, my view, if we don't sell it we may just have our one vote
the losing vote. Every seat at the NSSC is more about Influence
than just one vote.

I put my ideas and proposals out there well in advance of the meeting asking for feedback
Well I never received any Opposition feedback until standing in the
Spotlight at that meeting. Some good ideas went by the way because I was not able
To think quickly enough on my feet to deal with opposition, not because the idea was wrong.

I am Disappointed in myself for making those ideas available outside of Victoria
Where I was going to have no way of defending/ explaining the intent of the
Proposals. Insted the merit was discussed on the basis of the brief written copy.

V8SC will shortly Change to a radically new spec car, NEW not modified.
The current cars will probably move down one tier, whatever happens
There will be a glut of cars and spares on the market, I think its fair to
Assume that the 3D rules changes at the end of 2011 will be frozen again
for a few years. Now is the time to set up the rules to take full advantage
of the changes in the main game.

Ex V8SC 5L cars and my weight table proposal Might lead to significant increase in
The number of sports sedans.
If it doesn’t I want to be aware of the down side of my proposals and how it
Would negatively impact on our category.
So I ask the question again
Is there a down side to changing the rules to allow these non production motors
From being included?????????

From an outsider looking in the cons are definatly outweighing the pro's as far as investing heavily in a new car ! I thought politics were bad in speedway till i started looking at these things again.

Maybe someone should explain why the engines are no eligible considering you seem to easily be able to run ex nascar mopars and sb2 chevs without an issue.

Gotta love the passion we share within our category ;)

Ricey the presentation you forwarded me was very well layed out and explained.
Unfortunatly work commitments (and fixing a broken car) stopped us from coming to that meeting :(
What happened at the meeting?
Was your proposal tabelled and put forward for the National review, or just rejected on the spot?

Anyway, do these engines fall within the CAMS manual;

4.4 Engines:
(i) The engine and ancillary equipment is free, provided that:
• the engine block is derived from a car eligible under the provisions of Article 2 hereof;
• the road use mass-produced three-rotor rotary engine assembly is acceptable - Mazda 20B;
• all engines must be front mounted;
• it is sourced from a series production vehicle of which at least 2500 examples were built; or,
• it is permitted to use a cylinder block manufactured by a supplier to the aftermarket provided that:
(a) it is an identifiable replacement for a permitted, original equipment cylinder block;
(b) the centrelines of the crankshaft, camshaft/s and, where applicable, lifter bores are in the same relative positions as the original equipment cylinder block; and
(c) it is made from the same material as the original block.
Alternatively one of the following engine blocks may be utilised:
• GM Performance Parts/Chevrolet SB2.2, cast iron;
• Dart SBF Iron Eagle 351 Sportsman (Ford configuration), cast iron;
• Mopar/Dodge Nascar Sprint Cup, R5 , cast iron.

I am not sure, hence why I ask the question?

We seem to have worded in NASCAR engines, why not embrace local V8SC style engines?
A VE V8SC would make a very competitive Sports Sedan, however it has an "illegal" engine :rolleyes:.

Flame On!!!!
