To anyone who doesn't already have it. Get the current issue of Australian Muscle Car Magazine (Issue 54).

There's an 18 page write up on Tony Edmonson and the Alfa.

Agreed. I was amazed that he only competed in one Bathurst.

(Current issue of Racer has a write up on the Barnes Pontiac too)

I agree also, a terrific read. Good to see Sports Sedans featuring once again in the Muscle Car mag!

I remember being there at Surfers that day in 1979 as a little tacker, when Edmondson and Ward came together and seeing the black smoke rising into the air after that huge shunt.... Scary, scary stuff.

Yeah quite a story, never knew that Edmonson was so badly injured from that crash. Looking at the pics of the wrecked Alfa it is amazing that he survived. Must have taken a lot of courage to come back from that and then go on to win two championships.

From reading the interview he seems like a humble kind of guy, rightfully proud of what he accomplished but not caught up in the hype. Pity this attitude is no so prevalent these days in some other categories!!
