The R5 P7 is making 700 at 7100 RPM. The engines have been optimised for our regs with smaller runners in the inlet manifold and tweaked cam timing. They are a good alternative to Chev and Ford as due to Dodge pulling out of Nascar (with the exception of Penske whois continuing development but not selling engines) there is a glut of engines available. I have good contacts in Charlotte with 25 years of Nascar engine building experience and can source powerful reliable engines cheaper than Ford or Chev. The bottom line is they all(Ford, Chev, Dodge and Toyota use either Sonny Bryant or Winberg Cranks, Carrillo or Pankl rods, JE or Mahle pistons, Del West valves T&D oR Jesel OH gear with PSI Valve springs. The only different componentry is oil pumps, ignition, and exhaust. It provides a great opportunity to develop a chassis whithout having to worry about an unreliable or low powered engine.
