Simon Pfitzner, managing director of Pfitzner Performance Gearboxes in Adelaide has made available a prize pool of $500 per round to be used for a special event at each round. Called the PPG Dash for Cash, the top six qualifiers will be offered the chance to compete in a 4 lap, reverse grid, single file start race. Winner gets $250, 2nd gets $150 and 3rd will get $100. I reckon this will be terrific, the pole sitter coming off grid 6 to get through the field with 6th place qualifier trying to stay ahead after starting on pole for this 4 lapper, should be great. This 4 lapper for cash will not attract championship points nor will it be compulsory. If one of the top six elects to sit out the PPG Dash, the 7th place qualifier will be invited and so on until a field of six is achieved. The 4 lap race will be run on Saturday as the final event for the day which means that at least 3 teams will have funds for a couple of Jack Danny's eh? ;)

Will surely add a bit more excitement to the race weekend. Also good to see a motorsport orientated company giving something back to the sport.

What a mega race that was, the PPGearbox Dash!!
Everyone down'ed tools (including all the other categories competitors) to watch six very good cars hammering around in the 4 lap Dash. There was no quarter asked or given, some excellent passing moves and good clean racing generally!! Thanks to Simon Pfitzner for the prizes, it's a great concept and terrific for the category. It was also a very good opportunity for some additional testing (due to the lack of it available on Friday because of the rain) for those that needed it such as Shane in the Camaro. Hopefully we can get into the Top Six and have another crack at the upcoming rounds!!

Gees the Bradford Camaro has some pick up. I got up to the door exiting last turn thinking I was a show for some cash and he drove away. Strong engine that one, so is Scott Butlers amoung others. While I was trying to round up Shane I had Trent round me up for a 0.2 second gap to fifth.
My apology to Daniel Tamasi for my error in judgement in the fishhook, was only a small bump as we all checked up, for some reason nobody got back on the gas and I was off the brake by then thinking they would be gassing up. Would also like to thank him and Scott for a ripper clean race in race one, plenty of passing and no paint swapped; as it should be.
Scott seemed to be struggling with car balance and it was quite entertaining to follow him for some laps.

Glad everyone enjoyed it and was some great racing from what Ive been told!
Im aware of the risk for damage especially considering its not for points and being reverse grid, but glad that the concept was liked by all involved!
Its great for PPG that everyone stopped to watch the race but even more so that everyone stopped for a Sports Sedan race! Would be great to have some TV coverage for it but Im aware of the extra cost...
Looking forward to Mallala and hope the racing is as good there again!
