It would be a safe bet that probably 90% of the currently raced sports sedans in the country are located in NSW and VIC.

Why is it that nearly all off these competitors refuse to leave their home state? I wish I knew. It is not just Mallala, very few Victorians travel to NSW or QLD and NSW competitors don't go to VIc or QLD. Check on Natsoft. Johnson, Gilliland, Robinson, Butler and McCready are about the only ones (excluding full time national competitors).

As for the Mallala round, the only possible draw back is the lack of local cars. Are there even 5 sports sedans in SA? If we want new competitors to join the catagory they need to see the best cars in the country on their local track and hopefully get the locals fired up to join in.

Dispite our problems on Sunday I thoroughly enjoyed last weekend. Not only the time at the track but the time spent socializing with fellow competitors away from the track make our weekends very enjoyable. (tip - Shane Bradford cooks a mean BBQ)

Finally to clear up one point, travelling from Brisbane or Sydney, Mallala is 300km further that Phillip Island. From Melbourne it's the same as a trip to Eastern Creek (check if you want). So if "it's too far" is the only excuse people can come up with then it's time to harden the f#%k up princesses.

How was the plane trip home Roverboy.....hahahaha.

Normally I drive the truck home but last weekend as I did not race I flew home. More fun driving the truck I think?? I miss making my stayover at Cobar and visiting the Bowls club. A granddaughter of one of ball bag Baily's ex girlfriends works there hahahahhahahaha.

hey guys, i dont think anyone in this thread complained about the distance being a problem? so im not sure where
the comments are coming from? i know weve discussed it in the past but didnt most say it wasnt the prob?

I think the nsw people going to nationals problem is that the state championship has become so strong and enjoyingly
competitive that people are enjoying it with the much cheaper cost than nationals, great for state, crap for nationals.
although round 1 was no big field starter for them either.

dasnowman i know you werent having a go at me, it was phil and damian

damian i asked phil y we persist, i didnt s*** can him. I have openly supported and praised phil for his new
contract system. it helped bring 2 (and should have been 4) extra cars than the last 5 years.
Im all for supporting the kerricj series, but no one seems to want to support mallala?
There wasnt one 'extra' car there which all help when you have a large amount of failures.
Its sports sedans, you cant rely on 14 cars making it through every weekend unfortunately.

but seeing as tho the only response i get is to something i didnt say i have no idea if thats a problem or not

as i said before if the series is safe to run there with 14 cars and 6 in a race then cool leave it there, one day
id love to make it 15 - just asked

There is more than 5 cars in SA...
Dont laugh.. I owned 4 until a few weeks ago!

It was interesting to speak with some local guys on the weekend...
It appears that there are some cars that people have been working on that are nearing completion and should be competing at some stage this year...
Not sure if they would compete at national level? (hope im wrong!)
But it would be nice to see some local guys competing in local rounds, then hope they get keen to do the national meeting when it comes to town!

I did mention a while ago about having a Saturday night race under lights at Mallala just to make the format a little different and maybe more apealing.
We had a State Round over there many years ago with a race under lights which both drivers and spectators raved about it.
I know this would upset KB's dinner companions, but is this something to think about for 2013?
And yes there is plenty of lighting at the circuit to not need headlights on the cars ;)
