It was Round 1, and it was at Mallala. Traditionally the least supported round in terms of numbers, but despite that the racing (well the racing for second place), was really good!! Most of the other fields down there weren't well supported either.

Hardly time to panic. There's approximately 20 cars entered for Winton. Should be a great Round 2!!

Exactly.......and if everyone who owns a car that they are not racing to someone who will race it then it would be even better.

The Nationals will continue with a good sustainable format, good sponsors and great support from the Shannons Nationals management and CAMS so you can reliably count on that and invest in a good sports sedan knowing that you will have somewhere to race without being fleeced by one off or part time promotors trying to make a profit off you.

I would also like to see vibrant sustainable state championships in each state as we need that as we [nationals and state] are interdependant on each other. I think each state needs to prepare a 5 year business plan and stick to the plan with the aim of building piece by piece to a strong state championship over the coming years. This will help, as committees change, so as to stick to the plan.

Below is who has confirmed for Winton.

Driver: / Class:
Tony Ricciardello S1
Damian Johnson S2
Scott Butler S1
Colin Smith S1
Bob McLaughlin S1
Bruce Banks S1
Dean Camm S1
Shane Bradford S1
Anthony Macready S1
Darren Hossack S1
Neil Bryson S1
Calvin Pusterla S1
Keith Linnell S1
Graeme Gilliland S2
Chris Muscat S2
Ian Rice S1
Garry Roberts S1
Michael Robinson S1
Chas Talbot S1
Dave Pettit S1

Good to see a few U3500NA cars entered to make us lift our game ;)

Watch the S2 Centreline RX7 of Chris Muscat once again stur up the bigger S1 cars at this tight circuit. B)

10 ASSA Vic entries have made the field look a little better than the same core group that entered Mallala.

Still a smaller than expected field however there should be some exciting racing.

See you there.

Hey Nadz, Pusterla is the owner of Jocaro Motorsport who look after Neil Bryson's Mustang. He will be running a newly acquired Corvette. Keith Linnell has a Cortina with a mid mount (Clevo I think) that's been around for years. Pettit has an ex Vigurs Camaro with a Perkins supercar engine and 6 speed Holinger (Think he bought it from Chris Jackson?)Has done a few rounds here in Vic. Ricey is bringing out Jolly Bob's old Mower shop special for one last run around the block before the Monaro comes out next year. (We hope B)
20 cars at Winton should be plenty...

Linnell's car is the ex-Sola LHD Cortina from many years ago.
Pettit's car is correct Loser.
Both these should be quick as they have done plenty of AASA meetings at Winton.
