that is f*%king bullshit. Id say nadz its because whingers on here wont extend them an 'invite' as they need an invite to run with the nsw sports sedans because of there 6.2L 'CRATE MOTORS'. NSW state series gives them this invite but as its a kerrick series round the kerrick series manager has to extend them the invite. They entered under the thinking that it was half a state round. absolute wankers! (not the truck guys)
funny thing is the people whinging about it have let LOTS of illegal cars run in the past when it suits them. like that monaro templer thing in mallala. These guys have supported our series (state) all year and even have there own little point score in our series. It is supposed to be half our state round and this bullshit actually made it into the meeting.

I agree with you nadz, we do need as many as possible.

Not quite right there Boost, Phil accepted the truck entries on face value but the decision came from higher up the Shannons food chain after consultation with some CAMS guru expert wise person. The advice that came from said CAMS person was to not let the trucks run. It was out of Phil's hands. So much for CAMS being there to enhance the motor sport experience for all members...

If thats the case, why do they let Copping and inwood both run when they are in v8 supercars????, nothin against them i like seein them run but how can it be different between the 2 types of cars????, they should any late entrants that maybe missed out to now join the grid to make up for this nonsense...

2011 Kerrick National Sports Sedan Series - R3 Eastern Creek

Sorry MrBoost but that sort of post is totally out of line. Throwing insults at the people who have kept the series alive is not a good look.
I personally am sick of our catagory being CAMS dumping ground for all the cars that come along without a place to race. "We've bought a car now change your rules so we can race" is not the way it works!!

The rules are for the "Kerrick Sports Sedan Series" - no where are "Invited Cars" mentioned. As I understand it the rules for both state and national championships are submitted to CAMS before the start of the year. If invited cars were to be allowed it would have to be in the rules from day 1.

If people want a say in how the Kerrick Series is run it's simple - Get off your backsides, pay the entry fee and race your car. If you actually turn up and race then your opinions will be listened to.

Please remember that this is a public forum and open to everyone, including our current and potential sponsors. Insulting the series administrators in public is not a good look at all!

MrBoost - was typing at same time you issued your retration.

Nadz - the only thing on a Supercar that doesn't comply is the Larry bar and again, that's a CAMS decision.

How about they are allowed to run and then disqualified from the national results after? Don't the utes have a 3D log book?

2011 Kerrick National Sports Sedan Series - R3 Eastern Creek

Thank you Toymax and Roverboy for your posts of support.

It is always wise to check with those "in the know" and ascertain what the facts are before venting ones spleen but I do understand why some do vent because I used to like having a lash out like that when I was younger and had the belly fire fully stoked up.

These days I am a bit more laid back and like to pause and look at the big picture before doing anything and this is one reason why the Kerrick National Series is still running and will continue to run in a considered and sustainable manner for many more years.

Yes in this instance we have 3 people disappointed as they have to miss a race meeting and I understand the disappointment as I look forward to competing with enthusiasm before any race meeting, test day, run in a kart or a demo slide on the dirt. It's killing me to miss some race meetings this year but it is the price to pay for wanting a new race car. My retirement from business plus being on the sideline this year gave me the opportunity to look at the Kerrick series more and work on building a better base for the future of the series and you will see ongoing improvement if all or some of the things I am working on are approved.

Back to the 3 people, sometimes it is better to disappoint a few, if the reason is sound, for the benefit of the majority. If we do not have any rules or if CAMS do not enforce the rules WE have in the main written then we stand to upset the majority. When the sporting regs for this year were written and approved by CAMS invited cars were not part of the consideration and have never been considered in any previous year and will most likely never be considered in the National Series. If we cannot field an adequate number of complying sports sedans then I guess the series will fold, but I do not see that happening given the vote of confidence that so many existing and new entrants have made by constructing/ buying / ordering new cars.

My information is that there are 4 business's that currently are or are about to offer new complying sports sedans in a cost effective fashion to any interested purchaser. All 4 look like they have high quality product and 3 of them have a long and successful association with the national sports sedan series. The point I am making here is there is no need to look to far to obtain the right axe for the job and you do have the freedom of choice of doing this or purchasing a complying Trans-am car from NZ or the USA. Current news yesterday is 2 more Trans-am cars are being readied for shipping to Australia to compete in the 2012 Kerrick Series.

It also helps to have a hide like a Rhino with a teflon coating as I am dealing with a group of people that would trade their grandmothers ashes for a race win or a competitive advantage. I know the vast majority of you understand this and thank you to Mr Boost for your retraction, your Dad will be relieved as he is still apologising for the time he "dacked" me in the pits many years ago. You can make lifelong friends in this sport and it is always better to be on the track with them.
