[b]Can anyone help me with the eligibility of the body style im using for my sports sedan. Im in the process of just finishing off the fibreglass when a mate of mine comes and tells me to check it. Ive read the cams manual and find everything to be ok but he suggests otherwise. The body style is an Alfa romeo 154 similar to the one below. regards

G'day htc, Phil Crompton is interstate at present, should be back in his office by Thursday 31st. He is probably best one to answer. Can't help you with adding photo's but I'm sure someone will be glad to jump in and assist.

Hi HTC, Looks like a great car, dont know if the roof scoop would be allowed, hope it will be allowed. Is that your car or are they a couple of pics you have found that your car is based on?? Either way some bigger pics of it would be nice. Hope all turns out well, and you can build it the way you want it. :D :D :D Can't wait to be able to see it in the flesh.

Besides the roof scoop I think the only other issue you may have is with the air ducting/cutouts that form part of the front guards and side skirts near the rear guards. While side skirts are allowed as an aesthetic improvement they can't serve as an aerodynamic aid, the cutouts might be a bit of a grey area.

The Hossack Audi and Gillespie BMW both have air ducting/cutouts on their front spoilers and they seem to be approved but I am not so sure on the side skirts, you might have to talk to CAMS on this one.
Great looking car that's for sure, what running gear are you going to put under the body?

Thanks guys for the compliments. I'll check with CAMS to find out what they think. No the pics are not of my car but it is identical to that. i bought the body kit in from Europe. The engine in the car is a Nissan V6 VG30 single cam with single turbo with a Liberty 5 speed box (all left overs from my drag racing days) and Hallibrand rear end. The car is a full spaceframe car with engine mid mounted. The engine made about 780 h.p in drag racing form so with some detuning i'm hoping to make around the 600-650h.p range. The main change to the engine was the cam shafts. Thanks. I'll take some fotos of the car and post them.

Available DTM and Trans am bodywork may be approved by CAMS if submitted via the National Sports sedan committee. This is covered in the 2007 tech regs.

This body kit looks similar to all other DTM cars I have seen and I see no reason why the NSSC would not submit such an application to approve to CAMS and I see no reason why CAMS would not approve as that is a direction they want to see us head.

Please send me details and photos of your actual car so we may start the approval process. I assume you will compete in the Kerrick series 2009? Naturally you will have to comply with all teh safety requirements, chassis cage side impact etc of the sports sedan tech regs as they stand today.

Thanks Phil. I hope thats the case, its the way i read the rules anyway. I will get all the documents together with fotos of the chassis etc in the next couple of weeks. My aim is to compete in the 2009 National Series. Work has hindered my progress for this season. Regards
