Cant say to much about it but was told that Mike Ceveri wants to sell the Sierra...
He's had it ina container for years and cant see himself getting around to using it.
I was told all this by a "good" friend of his...

We discussed what the car would be worth...???
I didnt really pay much attention to it years ago but its a K&A torque tube car with a Motec Injected Chev and a Hewland, I think its a big LG600...???
Thats about all I really know...

It is definitely in my top 5 of all time, especially in the white esso paint scheme. I always thought his son (Tom??) who raced F'Ford would bring it out to play. Maybe not.

Just flicking through some old mags and i noticed there seems to be a few Sierras that have run as Sports Sedans. Maybe these were old Grp A cars that were running as Sports Sedans however there is supposedly a space frame Sierra here in Adelaide with a Cosworth engine in it that know one has seen, but we here a lot about. Any one know of this car.
1. Peter and Ron O'Brien were running a V6 engined one at some time. Does anyone know of this car.
2. Mike Ceveri's car we know that he still owns it and its up for sale
3. The Peanut Slab car that ran at Indy mentioned some where else.
4. This car below does anyone know anything about it

The Ron OBrien car was yellow and green and an Ex Group A car but I can't remember which one. There were some pics posted a few years back somewhere on a forum of it in its current state. It had the firewall cut etc. I have some DVD footage of it. There may even be some pic sof it from Nadz somewhere.

Plus there was that purple one for sale on My105 a few years back. If there was one in Adelaide, I thought you would be able to sniff it out HTC.

1.The O'Brien's car to my knowledge was an ex Colin Bond Caltex Sierra. Peter ran it with the Cosworth turbo motor for a year or so but after too many engine dramas they got Ron Krause to install a Chev/Buick V6. When Peter started driving the ex Tindal VL Commodore Ron started running the Sierra.

3. Here is a good link about the history of the Peanut Slab car, it is now back in the USA:
http://www.historictransamimsa.com/Members/schuler_halsmer.htmlnull

Mark Petch said the following about it on another forum:
ASSA,
we loved that car, however a very wealthy American collector, hunted the car down, and paid me more than I paid Jack Roush for the car in the first place! Meanwhile it's had a total restoration, and will run later this year in a new Gentleman's Series for pre91 TransAm cars. Scott Pruett won the 19887 TransAm championship in Chassis 4 ["ole yellow" as the team called it because it was the only car Jack Roush built with a chassis painted in Yellow] Its still Scooters all time favorite car.

I also understand that they are trying to get Scott Pruett back in the car, for promotional purposes, and if thats the case I would certainly be keen to go up to the cars first run back on American soil. Pete Halsmer, of Mazda fame, went on to win the 1988 IMSA championship [after they banned Turbo's in TransAm] in the same car.

Jack put it away in his collection, untill Ford New Zealand supported an approach to Dearborn over borrowing the car. This eventually led to MPM buying the car, winning 2 New Zealand Championships in it , before competitor pressure, saw Turbo's also outlawed in TraNZam New Zealand.

Cheers,
Mark Petch.

4. As for the classified ad Sierra my memory is really straining for that one....I am pretty sure I have a cutout of an Auto Action report from an Eastern Creek ASSA round that makes a brief mention of this car, I'll see what I can dig out.
