JD thanks for the help. Wonder where all those cars went, especially that Zakspeed car and Iain Cornish cars as they look like the only left hand drive cars out of the lot. I never realised that Zakspeed car ever raced here in Australia. It just may well be the car. looking forward to see what you come up with.

Its not like that now. It was how it was when i brought it home. In pieces, a trailer load. Problem is now with all my research into trying to get an association here in Adelaide by tracking down cars i've come a cross a guy who thinks this car may be an old Zakspeed car. I dont think so but it may have some history as an old race car here in Australia. Just checking as im still going ahead with my plans. It has markings on the diff, struts and brake parts. The original body was discarded because it had the big Zakspeed guards and these had to be changed when the new rules came in, dont know what year that was but the car never raced after that. i have no history or log book. Will have photos up shortly with how it looks at the moment. Engine and gearbox are fitted, tin work completed. Will be going for final paint and wiring in the next month. Hopefully testing March.

I dont want to spoil your day but you have a Escort with a Zakspeed body kit that was dupplicated in Australia. The diff is a Quickchange Speedway Industries from the late 70s mid 80 or similar product.
There is a similar car in Brisbane that had a rotary in it that raced for many years in Hillclimbs and sprints . With the same body kit. I almost bought it but I hate rotary's
I think if you look at Zakspeed they offered body kits and components . Most Zakspeed Escorts were built from components from the manufacture and by different race car shops? If you get a Zakspeed photo of a in house car they have a different roll cage? A gentleman I new from England had a similar setup with a gosworth engine used to fly B)
Still a nice car ! still worth doing ! :p

Have to say i always liked the cars Zakspeed built. The Escorts and the low slung Capris they used to race in Germany in the DRM against all the BMWs were great too:
