I have been flicking through the JD Archives looking at all the various VN VP VR and VS bodied Sports Sedans and trying to work out which is which. So is it possible to determine which is which and their where abouts?

1) The first car built was probably the Mick / Cos Monterosso VN. It appeared on the market throughout the 90's and they owned it until at least 1999. Whereabouts now?

2) The Luffy VN. This was sold to Rodney Crick around 1995 and then onto Glenn Taylor in about 1997. This was on the market in 2003 by Taylor.Whereabouts now?

3) Tony Hubbard debuted his VP in 1992. It was in a big accident at Amaroo in 1993 before being rebuilt. Was on the market in 1997.

4) Darren Pate debuted his Toyota Lexcen in 1993. HAd it until at least 1995. Sold onto Barry Morcom in 1996. This was LHD. WHere is it now?

5) Robin Doherty also had a VN/VP. In 1998 he had a VS fronted car for sale, was this the same car?

6) Bob Jolly debuted his VR around 1994. He was still racing this car up until 2002.This was then raced by Rodney Woods and now sits with Ricey?.

7) Greg Smith was running a VR in NSW in 1996. I have a feeling this may have become the Tony Wilson Commodore which he ran from 1997 until at least 2004. I think it was yellow at one stage. Is this now the McLoughlin car?

8) Grant Munday was running his VN around in 1998. Is this car was later sold to Michael Robinson in 2001 and then onto Chas Talbot in 2004?. Or was this perhaps the Doherty car?

9) Steve Vigurs has a VR in 1999. This was sold onto Chris J and was later stolen.

10) Brian Walden was running a VR with him and Garth in it around 2000. This could not be the Wilson or Jolly car. Where is it now?

11) Graham Blythman started running a VP over in WA, was this the car that later became the Bill Harris VP Commodore? Is this the same as the Brian Callaghan Jr car or is that different?

Other
- Allan Tillet had a VN commodore in the mid 90's. Did this become the Munday car or are they separate?. Allan later had a car with a VR/VS front on it, Was this the same car or a different car?

- Where does Dennis Nolan's car fit into this? It is a LHD so possibly the Lexcen?

- Allan Boughen had a VR Commodore in Qld in 1997. What is the history?

- THis incomplete car was for sale at one point. History?

- John Gerwald was racing a VR / VS in 1996. Was this sold to Greg Smith?

Soooo many questions.......

Didnt realise how many there actually was. Monterosso car is still here in Adelaide and is owned by Dave Brenssell. Apparently not far away after a complete rebuild. I talked to Bob McLoughlin one day and i'm sure he told me his car is the old VL Commodore that was driven by Mark Poole for Gawler Farm Machinery in one of the Indy races, i think its the one on another post that is backed into the wall, it was red/white and is LHD and Bob reshelled it.?

2) The Luffy VN. This was sold to Rodney Crick around 1995 and then onto Glenn Taylor in about 1997. This was on the market in 2003 by Taylor.
Whereabouts now?

Steve Vigurs bought this car off Glen Taylor. From what I hear the car was parted out.

4) Darren Pate debuted his Toyota Lexcen in 1993. Had it until at least 1995. Sold onto Barry Morcom in 1996. This was LHD. Where is it now?

Barry Morcom ran it at the end of 1995, he sold it to John Gerwald mid 1996 who ran it before he moved on to building a Calibra. Steve Vigurs then bought it off him and ran it for a few years. Chris Jackson then started racing it in 1999 until it was stolen from outside his house before a race meeting in 2000. I don't think it was ever recovered in one piece again.

7) Greg Smith was running a VR in NSW in 1996. I have a feeling this may have become the Tony Wilson Commodore which he ran from 1997 until at least 2004. I think it was yellow at one stage. Is this now the McLoughlin car?

Tony Wilson bought the car off Greg Smith and ran it pretty competitively at national level for a few years. Don't think it was ever yellow. Anyway he sold the body shell off it as he then put a Monaro shell on to the existing chassis. I actually saw the Monaro body work being done to this car some years back and it looked very impressive, don't know if the car is finished though.
McLoughlin now runs the body shell of this car from what I understand.

9) Steve Vigurs has a VR in 1999. This was sold onto Chris J and was later stolen.

Yes was the ex Pate car which if I remember correctly he actually built, perhaps, I am not 100% sure.

10) Brian Walden was running a VR with him and Garth in it around 2000. This could not be the Wilson or Jolly car. Where is it now?

I think he may actually still have it, a while back I heard it was being upgraded to IRS with some rear uprights purchased from Barry Jameson.

11) Graham Blythman started running a VP over in WA, was this the car that later became the Bill Harris VP Commodore? Is this the same as the Brian Callaghan Jr car or is that different?

I think Harris built his car from the ground up, first saw it back at Amaroo in 1993 at a Thundersports race meeting. I was always under the impression the Callaghan car was an ex touring car?

- Where does Dennis Nolan's car fit into this? It is a LHD so possibly the Lexcen?

Steve Vigurs originally built it as a new car (its not the Lexcan) and won the 2002 NSW state series with it. Dennis bought it from him and ran it for a few seasons, its now owned by someone in Queensland

- John Gerwald was racing a VR / VS in 1996.

I am pretty sure it was sold to a guy in QLD after the first O'Brien Aluminium meeting in 1996, Phast Phil would more then likely know.

The white car that is unfinished was built by someone in Tasmania and sold to Graeme McMinn. He advertised it in Auto action about 5-6 years ago. It was sold to a guy in Queensland who then advertised it on 105 about 6-12 months ago. It sold to someone else in Queensland.

This is the entry list from Rd1 1999 ASSC.

This is the grid

I have this race labelled as being from that meeting. I assume it is correct because this would of been the only time Baily ran the Prelude?. I assumed that the yellow commodore had to be Wilsons car based on this. However there is significant variation in the entry list vs what is on the grid for that race.

- So it seems the Pate Lexcen went on to Vigurs who then sold it to Jackson from whom it was stolen and dismantled.

- Monterosso's car is in the hands of Dave Brensell in SA.
- Waldens car is still around possibly in his hands.
- The yellow Callaghan VP made be an Ex Supercar. Based on the colour it could be the Quix car that won the Sandown 500 or was it 2nd place?
- McLoughlins is the ex wilson car possibly running the James Rosenburg owned Commodore running gear that was driven by Mark Poole.
- Gerwald may have sold his VR/VS to Allan Boughen in Qld.
- The white Project car is still unfinished but in Qld.

So it is undecided whether Taylors car is in 1 piece or possible chopped up to possibly make the Vigurs Carmaro's?
