Where are they now??

As Dasnowman mention, they are two completely different cars. Rogers car was an A9x that went to Tony Hubbard and then on to Robin Doherty. I think Doherty may have updated it to a Commodore body shell. Hubbard sold the Torana to buy the Richards Big M Falcon.
Note Bob Tindals A9X hatch was a different car too, I think he may have updated his to the Walkinshaw bodied car.

Tony Hubbard's car was different to Rex Monaghan's Ray Cutchie driven Hatchback (to become Rogers/Doherty/Ceveri) Tony's ran A9X type flares although they were much larger and the Monaghan car had box type flares.... Tony's car went to Ray Ellis circa 83/84.... Not sure what became of it....

The Edmondson BMW went to David Drew in WA circa 1976, not sure what became of it.....
The Paul Older Craven Mild version was a different car... Pretty sure this car ended its career at Lakeside either in 75 or 76.....

The Hazleton Monaro is an interesting beast.... Was that the car Michael Tannahill (spelling) ran in 1989 in the Vic State Series... Im going by memory only but it was white with big flares and i think a wing.....

I will ask Dad about the Monaro on Saturday, he is coming over to go over my car before testing next week.

This is a write up in this months Australian Muscle Car Mag, and they are trying to track down the Torana. Ceveri sold the body chassis to someone when the Sierra was built, and update the original components as necessary.

I also thought Tindal kept the A9X, and the VL Walkinshaw was a brand new vehicle (as he also ran the Grp A) which Attard drove.

Where are they now??

Does anyone know anything about the origins of a red twin turbo 253 powered A9X from Newcastle? A mate of mine bought it around 1997/98? out of an ad in Auto Action. (JD might be able to help here). I think the ad was in a year or so earlier and he called and they still happened to have it. It had the bigger box type flares (I think it was called a Taipan kit?) with removable front. The engine was built by Teterin engines in Newcastle. It had a 253 with an F5000 manifold, two turbos and two 58mm Webers bolted on the front of the turbos. Apparently it was built by a guy in Newcastle, he tested it once or twice then died. I'm pretty sure it never raced. My mate put an injected holden engine in it out of George Mengarda's VL but he never raced it either. It was sold to someone in Vic about 6 years ago and never been seen since. I'll try and get some pics to post up. Just wondering if anyone knew anything about it before or since?? The engine ended up in a boat minus the Weber's, which ended up on one of the resto'd 6 cylinder Toranas. Colin Bond's maybe??

Will have a squiz for you Loser when I get back to Oz (OS at the moment). I have a feeling that I do have a clipping of a twin turbo Torana advertised in Auto Action.

Ahh EscortMan so you are the Qld collector who has the Globe Escort in his shed "who wont part with it" as quoted in AMC. Geez neither would I if I had either of those in the garage. Like David5, would love to hear about the cars.

Loser here is the pic of the Torana I think you may be refering to. This is back in 1989.

That's the one JD. I think my mate ended up getting it for less than half that price off the guys widow a couple of years later. Does anyone know anything about it, or know where it is now??
