The yellow number 14 VP of Grant Munday's is the ex Allan Tillett car. It was never made into the VR. I don't know who Grant sold it to but it ended up with a guy in Bendigo who started to put a 20B turbo in it and never finished it. I found it on ebay and it was bought as a roller by George Mengarda (the previous owner of Neil Bryson's (AKA Ray Ayton's) Calibra). It was still in Grant's colours with all steel guards and doors just as Grant raced it. George was getting it going again last I heard, but that was about a year ago. I have a picture of it on the trailer in our factory after we picked it up. I'll see if i can dig it out..

I talked to Bob McLoughlin one day and i'm sure he told me his car is the old VL Commodore that was driven by Mark Poole for Gawler Farm Machinery in one of the Indy races, i think its the one on another post that is backed into the wall, it was red/white and is LHD and Bob reshelled it.?

That's correct. Bob purchased Ian Wilson's body panels who at the time was re-shelling his chassis as a Monaro. Has it ever hit the track?

Monterosso's car was really a new car. He purchased an old Torana 4 door Sports Sedan and was going to reshell it, by the time he finished it the car was basically a brand new car. Im sure Trump Engineering (Simon Ahrens) built the car.

That's right Colin, pretty sure Bobby just purchased the Wilson body for his chassis.

Chris Jackson told me that the Bob McLoughlin chassis (owned by Rosenberg - driven by Poole in the Adelaide F1 GP Support Race) was another to come out of the Vigurs Toyshop shed.

Apparently there have been about 30 chassis produced there over the years. That's a fair effort I say! :)

I'd believe it, Chris alone has run 4 different Vigurs built cars over the last 10 years!

From what i can remember tis is the car that Bob bought before reshelling it. Did this car belong to Wilson before Rosenberg bought it for Mark Poole to drive.

Is this the same Monterosso Commodore???

Nah that is Mundays car. It was blue at the back at one stage.

Im sure that is monterosso's commodore because your grid listing does say monterosso in a blue and yellow commodore and it was no.2.... I was at that meet and that was where the jag was backed into the wall on sat qualifying...

I'm pretty sure Bob purchased this one from SA actually, and it wasn't the Wilson car. Bobby ran it in Darwin for a few years before joining us down in Queensland to compete back in 2001 - the car was the same VL back then.

Not sure who owned the car prior to this photo though.......

Nadz had added some old photos in another post and i noticed that there is 2 Commodores that are white, one is Luffys car (across the windscreen) and the other with no name, but i noticed the number as 51 is'nt that Bob's number. So this maybe an early shot of Bob's car before he put the graphics on it. I see that in a picture on the grid at Oran Park the white Commodore in the middle has 'MAYBE' the same sign writing on the bonnet as car 51 in the photo below. I also have an old article that says a person by the name of Krause (wasnt there a Krause with an EH) drove a Commodore VS Sports Sedan in a race at Oran Park. Nadz maybe you have a photo of Krause in a Commodore.
