Yep I hope they do, and it would be good to see the marque display that some the cars are going to go in. Would love to see this meeting!!! Hope to see some of the older cars go out, not only to race, but just to be shown again. :D :D

I believe they had the same invite last year but majority of cars were vic state cars... good to see more national cars there to use it as test for final round....

Sports Sedans were invited last year and there was a solid turn out, Tamasi, Hossack, Randle led the way. The local Sports Sedan guys pushed hard to get a decent field. The work that the class did meant they got re invited in the hope the category puts a stronger field together, instead its gone backwards with less than 10 cars entered at the moment which isnt very good for the category, Hossack, Nelson, Roddy (XJS), Rice (Commodore), Robinson (Monaro) have entered. It would be a great event to test before the nationals and would be great to see some interestaters come down, this event is HUGE and would be a great showcase for the category in general, especially to the spectators as it would come close the the biggest audience they race in front of??? As its is majority state cars you dont have to be a top line car to be competitive. I hope they can lift the entries past 20 or I fear they wont get invited back...

Yeah no worries........take a week off work and drive 4000ks round trip and spend another $10,000+ to have a few laps in a support at an historic race event.
Get real.
Now we are struggling to get a field for the Nationals. If the guys running at the historic meeting went to the Nationals we could have had a big field and managed to pay the bills. Now we have 2 half arsed events and we tear up another wad of cash.
When will you get it??????????????

In a way I agree with you Phil, but as they say, if you can get some practice in before meeting, why not do it. Not sure if you guys follow the same stipulations of not being able to practice on a circuit a week before the meeting until the official practice starts. But I do agree that more drivers should try to support the National Series than what they do now. Now before anyone else gets their back up, I realise that MONEY plays a really big factor in this sport followed by time. Of which you need both to spend on the cars (as well as the families to keep them happy :D). This is my opinion, but I think that everyone should try to race the best guys all the time, or at least when they come to play in their backyard. I have the desire to go racing in this class, but unfortunately, I lack the money to do this class (as family and house draining the funds). Going by these forums, there is a lot of interest for the GREATEST CLASS in OZ, lets hope that it translate to more cars on the track. This class has seen so many changes over the years. Just to see it survive, and with the new cars now and the ones being built, this is starting to be a great time for this class. I hope the growth in this category goes from strength to strength, but it also supports the local guys to get them to run in the National Series, after all more cars the more fun right!!! Cause as soon as I have the money, I will be getting a car to run, never know Phil I might need to get one of those chassis that you are building. :D :D
