They ran in 1991 and 1992. To my knowledge they only showed one race from each year on TV which I have. These were the entry lists:

Removing the Group A and Group C cars out of the list, lowers the number of unaccounted cars.

The '91 field was huge, jd yort will these races be online in the future?

It was great seeing them as main supports to the touring car and amscar series on TV in the 80s and early 90s, the variation of makes and engine combinations make for interesting racing, why did they get bumped from support races with touring cars, was it the introduction of V8 supercars?

Anyone have any idea how much fuel a sports sedan would use at Bathurst in a 20 minute race. We are burning 2.3 litres per lap at Mallala. Be interesting, as our tank is only 45 litres in capacity, i was just thinking we may need to make some room for a bigger tank.

Even with a 4L a lap burn you wouldn't run out of fuel. The program only allows for 20min races (as mentioned) so I would assume somewhere around a 4 - 6 lap race would bring the field in that time. FF did 4 laps for there 20min slot when i raced in 96'.

You wouldnt burn 8L a lap even if you had 1000bhp. Even with the long straights your % of lap on throttle isn't as much as you would think.. well for an open car anyway!

You will be fine. Get your entry in!

There were two problems I have been told, the main one being our "backyard built" cars were lapping faster than these big dollar factory team cars which made the punters come and look at our cars rather than theirs.

The second was a lack of consistent entries towards the end. :(

Unfortunately we are still guilty on both problems.........................................but great to still be faster!!!! :p

Actually we were never bumped from Supercars. What happened is the fees to run with them, especially the way overpriced TV cost on channel 10 though Redmax productions made it non economical to race with them. Back then we were paying about twice the amount for half the TV time and I challenged that and they said "others will pay it" so I replied "then let them" and walked.
Also we had no pit facilities as supercar take them all and the pit fiasco at Phillip Island when it rained and we could not even get cars up to the dummy grid through the bog finally made up my mind to do something else. That is when we formed the National events with F3000 and some others (who were also fed up) and then it was taken over by CAMS and is today known as the Shannons Nationals. As we get much better value we have been able to provide good coverage for our sponsor, Kerrick, and as a result they have been with us for many years.
Honestly I do not think they [supercar meeting organisers] miss us and to be frank I do not miss being on their or anyone else's crammed programme.
So now you all know the real story.

Anyone who has been involved with the V8SC category or any of the support categories for them would agree with your decision Phil, and I am one of them.

The Shannons Nationals Kerrick series is the perfect size and structure for building SS up to a great category once again and the proof is in the excellent job you guys have been doing over the years.

Now all we need is this race at Bathurst to go ahead :cyclops:
